649 Squadron 2017 Awards Evening

This week we had the fantastic opportunity to come together as a whole squadron membership at our awards evening. Parents, families and friends were able to reflect on 649’s incredibly busy and successful past year. There were many certificates and awards handed out to cadets who have achieved great things during 2017. Our guest, Wing Commander Cox, Officer Commanding Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing, had the pleasure of presenting the awards.

After refreshments with wonderful home made cakes from our families, a number of our cadets gave impressive presentations on the topics of: The Dursley Challenge, Being a New Cadet, The National Aerospace Camp and our Squadron’s new website. Due to issues beyond our control on the night (our host being down for scheduled maintenance), we were unable give a visual tutorial. However we were able to explain how cadets and staff had worked hard to develop it in order to broaden the Squadrons appeal and widen its distribution in the community. By reading this post, you must have found the website, so welcome!

Congratulations to all the cadets who achieved awards.
