649 Squadron at Wing Awards Evening

On Friday 14th September 2018, Fg Off Evans, CWO Palmer and Sgt Rowles and guests attended the Wing Awards evening following an invitation to collect awards at Imjin Barracks. The evening celebrated the achievements and efforts of staff and cadets in the Wing, with more than 50 awards being issued. Among the audience of families and recipients of awards there were a number of VIPs including Air Marshal Sir ‘Dusty’ Miller KBE and 649 Squadron’s President, Assistant Chief Constable Julian Moss.

649 Squadron were selected as the Wing choice for the Marshall Trophy for the second year running as the most improved squadron in Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing. While CWO Palmer and Sgt Rowles were recognised for their work and efforts into the Dursley Challenge and Wing events, both receiving the South West Regional Commandant Certificate of Merit.

It was a pleasant evening and a fantastic opportunity to publicly recognise the work and efforts of everyone both present and absent in another great year with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets!
